Manning is a self-taught Hoosier folk painter. She lives in the Commiskey, southern Jennings County, area on her family farm, Stream Cliff. She and her family own and manage the farm, which is an agritourism business that includes plant sales (mostly herbs and flowers), a restaurant, antique shop, and farm winery.

Her work has been influenced by the late Grandma Moses and Rufus Porter, muralist, from the 1800’s. She has painted over 30 years using mostly acrylics and sometimes oil paints. Her prints are available at her farm and now she is starting to paint some small sized scenes to sell to the public. Most of her work includes her beloved rural scenes and farm animals.
